The FIA have revealed the full International calendar, featuring the European and World Championships.

Firstly the World Championship will visit Finland for the first time. The top drivers in the OK and OKJ classes will compete on the 1326m Mika Salo circuit in Alaharma. It will be the first time that the World Championships will visit Finland, but the second time in succession that it will be held in a Nordic country. The event will be held on the first week of September (5th-8th).

The World Championship for KZ along with the KZ2 Supercup will be held at Lonato, Italy. The circuit is no stranger to international competition, and is a favourite amongst drivers. This is seen as the official world championship in most people’s eyes and will be held between 19th-22nd of September.

Then there is the European Championships. The first being for the OK and OKJ classes. The series starts on April 21st in Angerville, France. Then it is a trip to the world famous Genk circuit in Belgium on May 19th. After that it is the turn of last year’s World Championship venue Kristianstad, Sweden to take the stage. That will be held on June 2nd. The final round of the series will be on July 21st, at the infamous Le Mans circuit.

The KZ and KZ2 championships again will consist of just 2 rounds. The first being held in Wackersdorf, Germany on May 5th with the final on June 16th at Sarno, Italy. The KZ championships will be joined by the FIA Karting Academy for the continents top young drivers. The series will also be a support category for the World Championships at Lonato, giving these drivers a huge stage to show their potential.

The Endurance Championship will again be a 24 hour race held at the spiritual home of Endurance racing. Le Mans. That will take place on the last weekend of September. The final engagement of the season will be the European Superkart championship, which held on the final weekend of October, once again around the Le Mans Bugatti circuit.

This will be the first time for a few years where the international karting world will not visit the UK, with a much larger presence in France, the home of the FIA.
